Millers Forge Economy 26 tooth Coarse Thinning Shear is suited to pet owner use for those wanting to keep their furry friends in tip-top shape for year round comfort! These coarse tooth thinning shears are best suited to bulk thinning bushy or heavy coats by inserting the thinning shears into the coat close to the skin. Or to inconspicuously remove mats or tangles in long or flat coat types by using this technique: Isolate the mat or tangle, taking care to lift away the coat that will hang down to cover the area after the mat is removed. Open the thinning shear and carefully place it parallel to the skin so that it will capture the matted coat when closed. Open and close the thinning shear two or three times. Use a slicker brush to pull the loosened mat from the coat.
