Man’s body recovered after Lake Stevens boat accident
LAKE STEVENS — Dave Balbirona, whose body was recovered late this afternoon in Lake Stevens after a boating accident Thursday, was a devoted rower and family man, friends said today.

Man dead after fire guts Winooski apartment building
WINOOSKI — A 26-year-old man is dead after a fire tore through a Winooski apartment building early Wednesday morning. Winooski Police said firefighters found Kaldon Goodwin unconscious in a downstairs apartment. He was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care, where he died, police said.

Sisters charged after horses seized
