I’m looking at cat furniture for my new kittens. Any advice?
I want them to be able to scratch on this cat furniture. I also want the design to be attractive for my house. It will need to last a good long time, and also stand up to whatever the cats dish out. I want it to be safe for them, and also something they can call their own little “space.”

First look at it thought a cats eyes. They have some real cool ones out there. What’s even more fun, is to make your own. Not that much trouble. Some wood, carpet, toys and you can even color coordinate it to your living area. You can get ideas from cat sites. Make sure you don’t think of him as a small kitten, because he won’t be small for long. Then your big cat will be less challenged.
The taller the better. Cats love to climb, even if they are declawed. I have a system of tunnels around my ceiling and the cats crawl through them. It keeps them occupied and happy and adds a unique look to the room.
Great! Congratulations on the new feline friends. I would choose a design with a nice sturdy scratching post or two, wrapped in Genuine Brazilian Sisal Rope. You should get something new, since you don’t want other cats scents on it. Many items in the big warehouse stores have been returned, and could have cat smells or even fleas! And you can’t know how long it has been sitting around in the dusty store, or how many kids have messed around with it, stepped on it, etc…You should get a scratcher with a big base, since you don’t want it to tip over. Some items have a bed or a perch on top of a scratching post, so the cats can look out the window. Some smaller manufacturers use a very high quality carpeting on their pieces, so that’s a bonus. Try to buy direct from the maker of this cat furniture, and not a store or a middleman (just ask them if they make these things or do they just buy and sell them!). You’ll get much better results. Hope this helps! Good luck!!!
I would highly recommend getting a cat tree on ebay, they have such great deals on there. I could have gotten one twice the size of mine for the same price (I bought my cat tree at PetCo).
What you need to do is go to a pet store and get a little cat tower. When I had my kitten she like to scratch things and climb up anything. It really worked. Take some advice from someone who has been through this. Trust me I have. My cat was so much better. Good Luck!
If you have the money, these are well worth it. Theyre made from real trees. I have a six foot tall one,its very sturdy. Great for climbing, lounging, and they can scratch the heck out of it!!!!

I got my 2 kitties a 3 story Cat Condo. Its like tubular and has 3 holes/stories they can go into. Plus it is carpeted on th eoutside and inside so they scratch it and sit on top of it. I looked for a while for a good one, then one day I found a sage green one that matched my wall paint exactly! It looks good in the corner of my front room!
